What is it?
If you are paying too much for purchases now then it stands to reason that you have paid too much in the past. Historic Bill Analysis is looking back over the purchase you have made and identifying areas where you have paid too much and why, this determines how much we can help you claim back. If it was overcharges (very common) or having been on the wrong tariff we can help. If it was simply down to not having been given the most competitive deal we will probably struggle – though if your supplier wants you to stick with them they will not only have to reduce their prices to more sensible levels but also offer a refund / discount on what they have taken in the past.

Typically we can go back up to 6 years and even on fairly modest sums this can add up to significant refunds. We can arrange for a refund in the form of cash or if the supplier is still to be used we can negotiate an increased amount as a credit. Either way it means less money being spent and more kept on your bottom line.

How does it Work?
If you qualify for the Cost Analysis (ie if you spend more than £100,000 per year - see Cost Analysis page) and feel that you may have paid too much for the goods and services you have consumed over the last 6 years then contact us and we will have a look into it for you. We will start with a short Q&A session to see whether you have paid too much then we will ask for invoices and copies of contracts / tariffs that were in place during the period under discussion. From this our team of researchers will be able to ascertain whether you were over billed and if so by how much. We will then contact the suppliers and start negotiations to get that money refunded. We will speak with you beforehand to establish whether you want credit notes or cash.

How much can you get back for me?
This all depends upon how much you have overpaid in the past and for what reason. If it comes down to straight forward incorrect billing or having been put on the wrong tariff (missold etc) then we can usually get the full amount and some interest and damages from the supplier. If it was as a result of an over enthusiastic salesman bumping up the prices then we can often get something back but this depends upon the future current and relationship with the supplier.

As a general rule of thumb, cash refunds are more likely to be closer to the actual overcharge amount whereas credit notes can be for substantially more – the lure of future business is a powerful incentive to keep you on side!

How do I get an HBA done for me?
Firstly, do you have expenditure amounting to atleast £100,000 per year? and secondly, have you spent atleast this amount for the past 3 years or more? If the answer to these two questions is "Yes" then we can probably help. Simply give us a call or use the contact page to tell us that you are interested. We will ask you a few questions to gain an understanding of your past expenditure. Once we have assessed your expenditure we will ask you to sign our HBA contract and supply us with the relevant paperwork. Once we receive these we will start comparing the invoices you have paid against the contracts and tariffs you have had in place and identify overcharges and negotiate refunds. Your input will be minimum and we will carry out all this work for - remember, we only charge if we can get the suppliers to agree to refund you!

How much does the HBA cost?
The analysis is completely FREE we only make a charge if we are able to secure a refund. The rates vary depending upon whether you are a consortium member or not. Non-members pay 50% of the identified refund quarterly in advance whereas consortium members pay 35% of the refund monthly in arrears. Either way you will get a service performed with no up-front cost and only have to pay us if we secure you refunds from the suppliers you have already overpaid... In other words, your suppliers will fund our analysis and your bottom line will improve.
